Summary FIA brought three suspects, blind-folded, in strict security using back door of Judicial Complex

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Judge of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Kausar Abbas Zaidi gave 14 days physical remand of 3 suspects of Imran Farooq murder case to Federal Investigation Agency on Monday. Court gave the remand due to security risk, reported Dunya News.

According to details, FIA officials requested for the extension of suspects’ physical remand without producing them in front of court. But the court refused to extend the remand without suspects’ appearing in front of the court so FIA brought Moazam Ali, Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim, blind-folded in strict security using back door of the Judicial Complex. Judicial Complex was searched and cleared before the suspects could be brought to court. Rangers did not let the media enter in court room despite the permission from court.

During the hearing of Moazam Ali, Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim, the lights of judicial complex were switched off. The lawyer of the suspects opposed the extension of remand but court over-ruled the objection and gave the suspects in FIA custody for 14 days. Court ordered the officials to present the suspects in front of court after the end of 14-days remand. The ATC adjourned the case till 28 of December 2015. The wife of Khalid Shamim, Beena Shamim was also present during the hearing but she was not allowed to meet her husband. Talking to media she said that she came all the way from Karachi to Islamabad to meet her husband as she had requested to meet Khalid Shamim in written application.
