Summary There is a long way to go before terrorism can be rooted out: CM Sindh
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that corruption is a provincial matter. He has said that federal institutions should only interrupt in matters if they themselves are pure from such corruption. He objected to interference from federal institutions terming them as ‘unlawful’, reported Dunya News.
Talking at a ceremony on Anti-Corruption at CM Sindh’s house, Qaim Ali Shah said that corruption began after Liaquat Ali Khan died. Underlining the huge amount of work needed to root out terrorism, he said that there is a long way to go before terrorism can be rooted out.
Qaim Ali Shah said that the federal government should only intervene when it is free from corruption as well. Chief Minister Sindh said the government is making a new law to curb corruption, which will be extremely harsh on offenders. He said that he wants the province to be freed from corruption yet to say and to do are two different things.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that corruption has become part of our society, which should be abolished as soon as possible.
