Summary The PTI's defeated candidate in NA-122 presented evidences of alleged fraud
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday has issued notices to NADRA Chairman, provincial election authority and National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in votes’ transference case in NA-122.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan held hearing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Aleem Khan’s plea regarding alleged transference of votes in NA-122 by-election.
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) officials, district election commissioner and Aleem Khan appeared before the commission. The PTI’s defeated candidate in NA-122 presented evidences of alleged fraud.
The commission summoned replies from Ayaz Sadiq, provincial election authority and NADRA Chairman on December 18.
While talking to the media after the hearing, Aleem Khan said that records show registration of 26,000 votes in 2013 after General Elections 2013. At least 4,000 votes were expunged from the constituency. Whereas the commission has transference record of only 812 votes, he added.
Earlier in November, Ayaz Sadiq had said that PTI s calls of re-election in NA-122 are beyond comprehension. The defeated party in NA-122 had called for a re-election in the constituency.
The by-election in the constituency was held after election tribunal had nullified the results on PTI s petition.
