KARACHI (Web Desk) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Saturday approved final challan presented by the investigation officer in Safoora carnage case, Dunya News reported.
The challan states that eight suspects have been arrested while eleven others are still at large. Suspect Qamar Sultan and other supplied weaposn to the absconders.
After accepting the challan, the court issued non-bailable warrants against the accused. Prime suspects include Zahid Motiwala, Mistri Pathan, Abdullah, Daud Pathan and others.
At least 45 people of the Shia Ismaili community, including 18 women, were killed in an armed attack on their bus near Safoora Goth on May 13.
The slaughter was swiftly claimed by IS, marking the first time the group, who have seized control of large areas of Iraq and Syria, said they were behind an attack in Pakistan.
Islamabad has officially denied that IS is operating in Pakistan, which has been wracked by Al-Qaeda and Taliban linked violence for more than a decade.
