ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government has saved Pakistan from bankruptcy and has doubled treasury in only 2 years, said Federal Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar.

Talking to a press conference, Ishaq Dar when government took over Pakistan, it was on the verge of bankruptcy yet it took the task as a challenge and improved financial condition of the country. He said that finances of the treasury have been increased from Rs 2 billion to 4 billion.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Ishaq Dar said that funds of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) have reached Rs 102 billion. He said that a ban on import of cars above 3000cc had been put in place. The ban, said Dar, has saved federal reserves in addition to putting an end on VIP culture.
