QUETTA (Web Desk) – At least three policemen were injured and their vehicle was completely destroyed in a roadside blast in Quetta on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.
According to police, the vehicle was hit by a remote-controlled blast in Kali Sardan village near Sariab Road during routine patrol in the area.
Three policemen including constable Ghulam Fareed, Abdul Ghani and Muhammad Ishaq sustained injuries in the incident. They were immediately rushed to the civil hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

DIG Operations Waheed Khattak said that bullet proof sheets applied on the vehicle saved lives of the cops. He said three kilograms of explosives were used in the attack.
Meanwhile, a heavy contingent of law enforcement personnel launched search operation in the area to arrest the attackers.
Pakistan‘s mineral-rich southwestern Balochistan province, of which Quetta is capital, has long been targeted by militants, and has been the scene of several attacks against the law enforcement personnel in previous years.
Pakistan has been battling a militancy for over a decade following the late 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan.
The army is engaged in a major offensive to clear militant hideouts in North Waziristan since June last year. The number of terrorist attacks across the country have declined since then.
Officials say more than 3,000 militants have been killed since the operation was launched in the tribal region.
