Jahangir Tareen demands army deployment in Lodhran's NA-154 by-polls

Jahangir Tareen stated that army should be positioned inside and outside the polling stations.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – PakistanTehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) central leader and candidate for NA-154 by-polls Jahangir Tareen on Saturday has demanded army deployment in Lodhran.

In a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Jahangir Tareen stated that army should be positioned inside and outside the polling stations on the election day so that fair and transparent elections could be conducted.

He further wrote that peaceful by-polls in NA-122 were only made possible through the deployment of army.

Dunya News received copy of his letter sent to ECP.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Siddique Baloch was de-seated by the tribunal on August 26 over a petition filed by Jahangir Tareen against alleged rigging in NA-154 Lodhran during the 2013 general elections.

By-election in NA-154 constituency of Lodhran will be held on December 23 this year.
