Summary All sensitive polling stations will be checked and monitored by army and Rangers personnel
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Over 1 lakh 4 thousand policemen will be deployed for security on second phase of the local body polls in Punjab and the Rangers personnel will be deployed outside and inside the polling stations while as many as 40 companies of Pakistan Army will be monitoring the situation.
According to details, as many as 40 companies of Pakistan Army, 8 companies of Rangers while over 1 lakh 4 thousand policemen will be performing security duty in 12 districts on second phase of the local body elections tomorrow (Thursday).
The army will perform flag march in all districts whereas the Rangers personnel will be deployed inside and outside of the polling stations.
The policemen will only let voters inside the polling stations after getting searched. All sensitive and most-sensitive polling stations will be checked and monitored by army and Rangers personnel.

Polling for second phase of local government elections in fifteen districts of Sindh and twelve districts of Punjab will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
Punjab districts include Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Attock, Jhelum, Mianwali, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sheikhupura and Khanewal while in Sindh, polling will be held in Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allayar, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Nausharo Feroz, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot and Tharparkar.
On the other hand, polling in Sanghar has been postponed due to security reasons.
A total of over 20 million voters will exercise their right of franchise in the two provinces.
Election Commission has finalised all necessary administrative and security measures to ensure free, fair and transparent polling process.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has delayed local body polls in 53 Union Councils (UCs), 18 towns, 5 municipal committees for the second phase of local body which will be held on Thursday.
A summary had been sent to Chief Election Commissioner, which got approved on Wednesday, regarding the delay of elections in constituencies in which delimitation had become an issue. Supreme Court had earlier granted ECP the discretion to sort out delimitation.
