LAHORE (Dunya News) – Tired of everyday allegations leveled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday hoped there will come a day when Khan will be blessed by God with guidance, Dunya News reported.

The Speaker said that all institutions are working while in their limits.

Ayaz Sadiq recently completed the ‘hattrick’ of defeating Imran Khan but PTI has now moved to the Election Commission to get Sadiq de-seated.

Talking to the media on his visit to Lahore’s Mian Mir Hospital, Ayaz Sadiq said that talks of re-election in NA-122 are beyond his comprehension. He said a committee comprising leaders from all political parties has been formed that will review the matter in light of national interest.

He said the parliament and other institutions are working while in their limits. He said terrorism is no longer an issue of a particular region, adding that it has become a global war.

Meanwhile, Spokesman of PTI Naeem-ul-Haq hoped that Ayaz Sadiq will perform duties according to his designation. He accused the PML-N leader of closing the microphones of opposition leaders so that they cannot share their views.

He further said that the Speaker has always shown loyalty with PML-N and neglected the stance of other MNAs.

Earlier, PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq took oath as Speaker of the National Assembly for the second time.

Ayaz Sadiq and Shafqat Mahmood of PTI were the two contenders for the seat of Speaker National Assembly. The assembly had initially received three nominations, but MNA Ghazi Ghulab Jamal withdrew his candidature.

Sadiq secured 268 votes while Shafqat Mehmood received 31 votes only.

Ayaz Sadiq, who was elected MNA after 2013 election, was de-seated by an election tribunal in August this year over massive irregularities in the election process in NA-122 constituency of Lahore. The decision was taken on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s petition challenging Sadiq’s victory.

Sadiq recently retained his NA seat after defeating PTI’s Aleem Khan in NA-122 by-polls.
