Terrorists attack police checkpost in Karachi, claim life

Summary Militants hauled police weapons as they took off

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Terrorists on Saturday have opened fire on a police checkpost killing a police constable while injuring other on Super Highway.

The slain police personnel were named as Jaffar and Ali Raza. Police said that at least four armed men rode motorcycles to the checkpost.

The terrorists opened indiscriminate fire at the personnel. The law enforcers recovered at least six 9mm shells and three of 30-bore weapon.

Militants hauled police weapons as they took off.

Earlier on Friday, at least five people were injured in an attack in Lyari’s Nayabad area. Police had said that attackers hurled a grenade at locals standing near a water pumping station.

Rescue teams reached the site and shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital. Police said that extremists used a motorcycle to carry out the attack.
