KARACHI: (Dunya News) – International Monetary Fund (IMF) has rejected the rumors circulating in Pakistani media that IMF has suggested devaluation in the value of Pakistani currency. IMF’s Head of Mission Herald Finger said that the fund didn’t suggest any such measures, reported Dunya News.

Talking exclusively to Dunya News, Herald Finger said that Pakistan decides about the value of its currency keeping in view the supply and demand of the US dollar in the country and IMF hasn’t suggested Pakistan to devalue its currency.

Talking about the tax revenues, Finger said that the government failed to meet its target of Rs. 40 billion in the first 3 months of the financial year and the officials have assured the fund of taking measures to meet the target in the coming months.

Finger said that government understands better how they can improve the tax revenue. IMF has however, suggested the government to increase its tax income so that the funds can be available for development.
