Summary No country could attract foreign investors if there is no peace, says Shahbaz Sharif
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Friday has said that law enforcers would ensure fool-proof security to local and foreign investors.
He expressed these views while addressing a two-day investment conference in Lahore.
The CM said that stern action would be taken against any official who demands commission from the investors in Punjab. He said that the federal and all provincial governments are working for eradication of terrorism with cooperation of the Pakistan Army and nation’s support.
He said that the Punjab government is utilizing all resources possible to counter insurgencies.
Shahbaz said that no country could attract foreign investors if there is no peace. Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has resolved to promote investment in the country despite all issues along the way.
While addressing the conference, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Ashraf Wathra welcomed increase in foreign exchange reserves that have hit above USD 20 billion.
More than 250 delegates from at least 25 different countries including Turkey and China are participating in the two-day seminar.
