The worst floods in Pakistans history continue to cause more destruction across the country. The flood water from Skardu is once again threatening Punjab and Sindh. According to information from the Pak Army and district administration the flood water is passing from Sukhar and Kotrai. Southern areas of Punjab including Muzaffargarh, Jampur, Rajanpur, Kot Mithan are once again experiencing the devastation of the floods. Rescue and relief operations have been badly hampered due to the fact that water has not receded in the last 96 hours.Tens of thousands of villages in Pakistan are still under water. With most of the crops flooded, severe food shortages are faced by the all the regions hit by the flood. The prices of food items skyrocketed across the country. Several flood affected districts are severely hit by shortages of medicine, petroleum products and edible items as well. Floodwater is moving towards Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mityari, Tando Muhammad Khan. Ghari in the district of Jacobabad remains submerged. Flash floods entered into the downstream of Usta Mohammad and Ghandaka, destroying mud houses and rendering thousands of people homeless. However, Usta Mohammad city remained safe because of a protection dyke. Floods further destroyed life and property of people in low-lying areas of Usta Mohammad and Ghandaka where road link and communication system have been severely disrupted. Breaches in four canals, including the Pat Feeder canal, have been plugged in a bid to save Jaffarabad areas of Dera Allah Yar and Rojhan Jamali.Landslides and rain-triggered floods destroyed several bridges in Gilgit-Baltistan, cutting off the entire region from the rest of country.Kotri barrage is experiencing a high-level flood. At least two breaches have been reported at Saifullah Maghsi canal due to Ghari Kharipur has been completely submerged.
