Summary The inefficient performance of electoral staff has irked the locals.

(Web Desk) – Mismanagement on Saturday has been reported in ongoing first phase of local government elections at various polling stations in Punjab and Sindh.

The polling staff has once again failed to hold elections without any misconduct despite taking measures.

The performance of electoral employees was seen inefficient as the residents broke the locks of male polling station in Sukkur with bricks. The polling was begun after facing a 20-minute delay.

Separately in Qureshi Goth, the deployed officials were forced to start polling process by using mobile phone torches as the federal government failed to halt power outages in most of the areas.

Reportedly, voting could not start at polling station number 76 in UC Balochabad of Thal due to absence of staff while electoral process was also suspended in female polling booth in Larkana’s UC Sehar as the workers could not reach on time.

On the other hand, misprinting of ballot papers also added fuel to the fire.

In Lodhran, supporters staged protest outside polling station number 49 against the misprinting of papers whereas UC 231, UC-84 and UC-86 of Lahore also witnessed demonstration over the same cause.

The polling stations at various places also turned into a battlefield as supporters of different participating candidates clashed with each other during voting time for first phase of local government elections in Punjab and Sindh.
