Summary PML-Q leader said Shahbaz Sharif's priority is Lahore only, urged the people of Gujarat to rise up

GUJARAT: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has on Thursday said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) gave the nation nothing but failed projects. He said that Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif’s only priority is Lahore. He urged the people of Gujarat to rise up for their rights, reported Dunya News.

Addressing PML-Q Workers’ Convention, former CM Punjab urged the people of Gujarat to vote for Bicycle (PML-Q’s election symbol) on October 19 in the local body elections. Pervez Elahi also wrote to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) informing them of his concerns. Administration has also been warned to remain impartial during the elections.

Challenging Shahbaz Sharif for a debate at the Minar-e-Pakistan of Lahore, Pervez Elahi said that the current CM Punjab wouldn’t be able to defend his 15-year tenure against Elahi’s 5-year rule in Punjab. He said that Shahbaz Sharif couldn’t set up any project like Rescue 1122 during his 15-year rule in Punjab.

“We fought the rigging of 1977 election, defeated rigging in 2013 and the people of Gujarat will also safeguard their vote and victory”, said Elahi. He said that the local body elections will be a test for the ECP.

The PML-Q leader said that Shahbaz Sharif didn’t let the Wazirabad Cardiology Hospital run, causing 4000 residents of the region to die of cardiac diseases.

Pervez Elahi promised the voters that they will turn Gujarat into a modern Aligarh by constructing universities in the city, if voted to power again. He said that PML-Q will bring the era of progress and prosperity back.
