NDMA still unprepared to deal with quake disaster

Dealing with any incident is the duty of local administration, says former NDMA chairman.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has once again failed to deal with recent earthquake that has claimed lives of hundreds and injured thousands of people.

The quake of October 26 that jolted parts of South Asia including India and Afghanistan has created fear among the people however, the concerning department NDMA has once again let down the country like it did in October 2005 despite grabbing heavy funds.

According to former NMDA chairman, dealing with any incident is the duty of local administration.

On the other hand, finance minister Ishaq Dar said the government would ensure provision of funds to NDMA and other institutions for relief and rescue activities. He vowed to be with the quake sufferers for the rehabilitation process.
