Targeted killings haunt Karachi again; Imam shot dead

A prayer leader has been shot dead in Karachi bringing the death tally to 5 since Monday night, Dunya News reported on Tuesday. As per reports, some unidentified miscreants opened fire at a prayer leader namely Furqan of Masjid Sadiqia at Ranchod Line. He died while on the way to hospital. The other night, unknown motorcyclists gunned down son of Maulana Yousuf Hussain while a doctor also lost his life in a same incident of targeted killing in Orangi Town. Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of DSP Nawaz Ranjha and a head constable was held at Police Headquarter Garden which was attended by IG Sindh Babar Khattak and CCPO Karachi Waseem Ahmed besides others. CCPO Karachi has formed a three-member team to probe into murder of the police official while the Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik ordered him to beef up security in wake of the rising incidents of killings in the metropolis.
