PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has said that the federal government and provinces would collect Rs350billion for the rehabilitation of flood affectees. Talking to mediamen after inquiring after Javed Hashmi at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad on Sunday, Nawaz urged all the provinces to cut down their expenditures and give 3 percent of their respective budgets for flood relief efforts. He said a commission would be set up to collect funds for the flood victims and all the other organizations would work under the said body which would ensure transparency. Nawaz said collection and provision of aid to the flood affectees should be the priority of all. Replying to a question regarding construction of Kalabagh Dam, he said that this issue should not be raised at such a critical moment, adding that political point scoring is uncalled for.
