KARACHI (Dunya News) – Non-teaching staff of Karachi University on Monday has staged a protest against university’s irregularities and corruption.
The staffers refused to entertain visitors and students in a protest and blocked main administration block, demanding to resolve their matter.
The enraged employees stated that illicit hirings are bravely carrying out in the university which is against the rules. They said that the authorities have to applaud the struggling recruits.
The on-duty representatives were of the view that the university management has failed to run the organization smoothly.
The non-teaching workers further raised voice for their rights and lashed out at the administration for continuously discerning them. They said that they have been deprived of basic facilities for so long.
Rangers personnel were also summoned to avoid any mishap in the premises of the university.

The demonstrators called off protest after a passage of few hours on a KU vice chancellor’s assurance that the proposed measurements would be taken for the early solution to their problem. The workers also warned of again holding protest in case of not addressing their reservations.
Earlier, students protested against university, stating that admin has raised not only its semester examination fee by 40% but has also increased other fee charges. Students held a sit-in outside vice chancellor’s office and sloganeered ‘go VC go’.
Students stated the fee hike was intolerable and demanded to withdraw the fees notification as early as possible.
