LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Monday has said that the provincial government is making efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz to weed-out terrorism and energy crisis.
Shahbaz held a meeting with Balochistan CM Abdul Malik Baloch in Lahore.
The meeting discussed inter-provincial cooperation and other matters of mutual importance. CM Shahbaz expressed a resolve to eradicate militancy and extremism from the country. He said that the leadership would free the country of insurgencies.
He mentioned Punjab’s education initiative during the meeting. He said that the process would arm youth with modern education. Not only that but, he said that the initiative would develop harmony and national unity.
Earlier, the premier chaired a meeting in Raiwind and instructed CM Shahbaz to take notice of intra-party tiffs. He said that such acts would only weaken the party structure. Shahbaz assured the PM of taking care of the matter.
The meeting discussed results of NA-122, NA-144 and PP-147 re-elections on orders of tribunals. Sources said that PM Nawaz was resented over losing seat in PP-147 to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The leaders agreed that the party needs to prepare for the upcoming local body (LB) polls in Punjab and Sindh. The meeting was attended by Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Member of National Assembly (MNA) Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman and provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Differences between federal Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali’s father and Sanaullah have increased in the recent times. Both the influential persons have hurled allegations at each other including crime as serious as murder.
Sher Ali, in a press conference in the last week said that Sanaullah has sanctioned not less than 20 murders. Whereas the Law Minister who was sacked after the Model Town incident in regard to PTI’s Azadi March has alleged Ali of using unfair tactics to have his son appointed as Faisalabad mayor.
