A huge flood tide submerged Jampur City once again while a breach has been created in a canal to save Jacobabad. After inflicting massive damage in the low-lying areas around Muzaffargarh, it headed towards Jatoi and Rohailawali and swiftly entering Sanawan area of Kot Addu. The deluge hit Alipur, Chandwal, Basti Mandor, Basti Nikka Galor, Manga, Bhatta and Moza Changapor areas of Muzaffargarh. Ground communication of Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh is still suspended. A huge flood wave is reported from Chachran Sharif at Guddu Barrage. Jacobabad has been completely evacuated; erosion has begun in Kahirpur bunds due to flood while water pressure is being increased at Bhanot Bund of River Indus and Qasimabad, Latifabad and Hussainabad embankments at Kotri Barrage. In Ghotki, some 11 villages have been submerged and cotton crops damaged as a 200feet wide breach developed in Ranny canal. On the other hand, flood tide battered Dera Allah Yar in Balochistan after which the main highway has been broken. Emergency has been imposed in Jaffrabad. Meanwhile, the flow of water has rapidly started increasing in Kotri Barrage; where as the frightened citizens prepare to evacuate the area.The water level is increasing in Kotri Barrage and the inflow of water here is of 223,346 cusecs and outflow is of 220,141 cusecs. There is more inflow of water expected due to which emergency has been declared in the area and works for strengthen of flood walls is also being initiated. According to the irrigation sources, a huge flood tide of about 600,000 to 800,000 cusecs will pass from Kotri Barrage on the night falling between 14th and 15th August. The locals of the area are frightened and have started preparing to evacuate.
