Summary Rallies, public meetings observed throughout the country and demanded national holiday
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Rallies and public meetings were observed throughout the country in the honor of the 2nd Caliph of Islam Umar (r.a) on Thursday, Muharram 1. The attendants of the rally demanded observance of the day on government level and also demanded the day to be declared a national holiday, reported Dunya News.
In Rawalpindi, the rally was led from Raja Bazaar to Liaquat Baagh. The attendants of the rally admired the services of the 2nd Caliph of Islam for the religion and demanded the day of his martyrdom to be observed on government level.
A motorbike rally was held in Sargodha and was attended by a large number of citizens.
A religious party led the rally in Peshawar on Ashraf Road which became a public meeting after arriving at Masjid Qasim Khan.
A rally was also led in Sukkur from Rabbana Mosque to Press Club. The attendants of the rally were carrying banners and placards on this occasion.
