Summary SHO Munir Chandiya among three culprits are still at large
MUZAFFARGARH (Dunya News) – Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday has remanded Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Noor Dhakna and Constable Qayyum Dasti in police custody for five days in Sonia’s rape case that claimed her life.
The criminals were presented before a special anti-terrorism court in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan. The development has come in the case of a 24-year-old girl, Sonia who set herself on fire outside Sadar Police Station on Wednesday. The act was described as a frustrated attempt against police’s denial to register a case after she was raped.
Sonia was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to burns.

Sadar Police’s Station House Officer (SHO) Munir Chandiya among three culprits nominated in the case that was registered after Sonia’s death are still at large.
On October 14, Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif had visited late Sonia’s house and offered her condolences to the victimized family. He assured the affectees of culprits’ arrest within 48 hours. A day after CM’s ultimatum, case’s all nominees are not in police custody until filing of this report.

The CM had given a cheque of Rs 5 lac to Sonia’s family. Moreover, District Police Officer (DSP) was suspended following the incident.
A ridiculous statement was seen on Wednesday when Sadar Police Station officials said that City Police Station covers the area thus they should have registered a case.
The girl had went to register case against the perpetrators several times in the past yet met with no success as SHO tried to save his colleague. The girl later on went to commit suicide in front of police station. The suicide attempt site was near to the DPO House.
