Summary At least seven people were killed in a suicide blast at PML-N MNA Amjad Khosa's office.

DERA GHAZI KHAN (Web Desk / AP) – A complete shutter-down strike is being observed in Taunsa Sharif today (Thursday) to mourn deaths of seven people in yesterday’s suicide bombing at the PML-N lawmaker’s camp office.

At least seven people were killed and several others were injured when a suspected suicide bomber targeted the office of Sardar Amjad Khosa, a member of the National Assembly, in Taunsa town near Dera Ghazi Khan city in the southern part of Punjab province.

Khosa, a member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N), was not present in his office when the attack occurred.

To mourn the incident, all shops, business centres, educational institutes and petrol pumps are closed in the area. Lawyers in Tehsil Bar have also boycotted the court proceedings.

A rally will be taken out on the call traders union.

MNA Amjad Khosa condemned the blast, saying it was an act of terrorism. "My close friends are among the dead and injured," he told state-run Pakistan Television.

The attack came two months after a pair of suicide bombers detonated their explosives in the hometown of Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada, killing him and 17 others.

Pakistan has long been under attack from different terrorist groups, killing tens of thousands of people in over a decade.

Since last summer, the Pakistani army has been battling the militants in the tribal region of North Waziristan on the Afghan border, killing more than three thousand terrorists and dispersing many of the fighters there.
