Summary Station House Officer (SHO) has been suspended over his inaction against the ASI
MUZZAFARGARH (Dunya News) – An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has been arrested after a girl committed suicide by setting herself on fire. Station House Officer (SHO) has been suspended over his inaction against the ASI, reported Dunya News.
A young girl committed suicide by setting herself on fire as she failed to get justice after she was raped by an ASI. A case has been registered against ASI in City Police Station. Divisional Police Officer (DPO) has suspended SHO Bilal Ahmad of City Police Station for not taking any action against the ASI.
Police has booked ASI Noor Ahmed Dhakna while raids are being conducted to arrest Constable Qayyum Dasti. The suspended SHO was in charge of City Police Station. Instead of sacking SHO Sadar Police Station, DPO suspended SHO City Police Station.
Blame Game
DPO has said that since Sadar Police Station is in the limits of City Police Station which is why the responsibility lies with City Police Station. SHO Sadar Police Station had earlier kicked out the girl, who later immolated herself, from police station. SHO Sadar Police Station and the station’s personnel are unaffected by the proceedings so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that the girl had went to register case against the perpetrator several times in the past yet met with no success as SHO tried to save his colleague instead of serving justice to the girl. The girl later on went to commit suicide in front of police station. It is pertinent to mention that the site of suicide is near to DPO House.
