Summary 9-point agreement agreed upon by PIA, Palpa; decision on Director Flight Operations in 15 days
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Pakistan Air Line Pilots Association (PALPA) have on Friday agreed to a 9-point agenda as the talks between the 2 parties remained successful. The decision on removal of Director Flight Operations is expected within 15 days, reported Dunya News.
Secretary Civil Aviation Ali Gardezi told Senate’s Standing Committee for Cabinet Secretariat, chaired by Chairman Committee Talha Mehmood, that the e-mail written by the pilots to international aviation contained derogatory words for the country which might cause a drop in the grading of the aviation. Chairman Committee said that Palpa shouldn’t have written the e-mail.
President Palpa told that the e-mail has been withdrawn but the points of agreement weren’t shared. The 10 points agreed upon were altered before presenting them to the committee. Palpa officials were presented with the copy of the agreement, studying which completely, the Palpa officials agreed to 9 points. However, the decision of removing Director Flight Operations will be taken within next 15 days.
Palpa officially apologized for the e-mail written to the international aviation and also apologized for the problems faced by the passengers due to their strike.
