Salman Taseer murder case: SC upholds Mumtaz Qadri's death sentence
The suspect was awarded death penalty by trial court which was upheld by a two-member bench of IHC.
ISLAMABD (Dunya News/Web Desk) - Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday has upheld the death sentence to key suspect Mumtaz Qadri while rejecting his appeal against the judgment of Islamabad High Court (IHC) in former governor of Punjab Salman Taseer murder case.
As per details, a three-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa conducted the hearing of the case and announced the verdict.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mumtaz Qadri had assassinated former Salman Taseer in Islamabad over blasphemy issue.
He was awarded death penalty by the trial court which was upheld by a two-member bench of IHC.
