Summary PIA has bore losses worth more than Rs 40 crore in the six-day strike
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Another round of talks between Pakistan Airlines Pilots Association (Palpa) and the government ended on Monday without any productive outcome as deadlock persists.
Palpa has refused to step down while the government is also not budging. The association also rejected formation of a committee in the matter.
PIA has bore losses worth more than Rs 40 crore in the six-day strike while more than 70 flights have been delayed. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesperson said that Palpa has demanded the government to transfer flight director, halt all inquiries against pilots, re-establishing pilots’ licenses and determining pilots’ seniority on data provided by Palpa.
Palpa president said that PIA is run by a dictatorship. He further said that Palpa is only asking for its rights.
On the other hand, private airlines have hiked tickets prices amidst of the ongoing tiff. Ticket for Karachi-Islamabad route is available for Rs 27,000 while Rs 24,000 for Karachi-Lahore.
The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has recommended holding inquiry of the issue. The commission said that the inquiry would determine the culprits behind the issue who should be taken action against.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the hiked tickets prices of private airlines. He has directed authorities concerned to reverse the fares to normal within 48 hours.
