Summary Pakistan's largest package given for welfare of farmers, development of agriculture, says Shahbaz
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has on Saturday said that the current government has taken steps for the financial well-being of the small farmers. He said that the largest package in history of Pakistan has been given for the welfare of farmers and development of agriculture in the country, reported Dunya News.
CM Punjab met Federal Minister of Food Security Sikandar Bosan and discussed the steps taken for ensuring the benefits of relief package reaching the people. He said that the institutions will have to play an active role in order to implement the agriculture package given to the farmers. “The package worth billions of rupees will certainly impact the agriculture sector positively”, he said.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the 431 billion rupees package for agriculture sector was unprecedented in the country’s history. “We safeguarded farmers’ interests in the past and will continue doing so”, he added.
