KARACHI (Dunya News) – It seems that progress is finally being made on stopping Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) from tendering resignations as government has decided to form a committee to address MQM’s reservations, reported Dunya News.
According to sources, a committee headed by a retired judge will be formed within 3 days of PM Nawaz arrival in the country. The said committee will begin its proceedings in 7 days and will present its final report in 3 months.
The committee will consist of representatives from civil societies, unbiased politicians and retired judges.
As per sources, the committee will focus on 5 to 6 points raised by MQM. The committee will investigate claims of alleged obstruction in MQM’s welfare work, alleged extra judicial killing of MQM party workers and alleged missing persons from the party.
Head of Jamiat-e-Ulema Fazl (JUI-F) Moulana Fazlur Rehman said that the agreement between MQM and government will be announced on the arrival of PM Nawaz in the country.
