Summary Arif's degree was challenged by rival candidate from the same constituency
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Election Tribunal on Friday disqualified Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Member National Assembly (MNA) Chaudhry Arif over fake academic degree, Dunya News reported.
Arif was elected in general elections 2013 from Okara’s constituency NA 144 but his candidacy was challenged by independent candidate from same constituency Fiaz Ghauri.
Ghauri had filed a petition in the election tribunal saying Arif’s degree from Larkana Board is forged. The tribunal declared the successful candidate disqualified after the challenged degree was not verified.
Chaudhry Arif had succeeded in the 2013 general elections by securing as many as one lakh three thousand two hundred eighty two votes.
