Summary Junior police officers are appointed at sensitive and top offices, says Sarwar Khan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Secretary Law and Justice Chaudhry Sarwar Khan on Thursday has said that high ranking police officials have no experience of working in a police station.
He explained officials’ incompetency during hearing of case regarding irregularities and misadministration in police in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan.
He said that station house officer (SHO) is the master of the station without whose consent no case is registered.
The case was heard by a bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Jawwad S Khawaja. Khan said that junior police officers are appointed at sensitive and top offices. Justice Dost Muhammad said that one “Sikandar” captured the sub-continent while another took Islamabad hostage for several hours. He further said that police has shortcomings and loopholes.
CJP Khawaja said that it takes not less than 10 years for a forestry department secretary to get a land mafia case registered. How long a common man would have to wait to register a case, he remarked.
He further said that the case does not seem to be resolved easily through paper work.
However, the hearing was adjourned until September 4.
