Summary Citizens have the right to identify violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, states petition
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday has reserved verdict regarding maintainability of petition seeking action on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members’ resignations.
The petitioner’s counsel requested the court to order National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to approve the resignations. He said that matters regarding resignations could not be stretcthed to a long period of time.
He further said that the parties in the matter are settling terming it “negotiations.”
On IHC Chief Justice’s (CJ) question, the counsel said that citizens have the right to identify violation of the Constitution of Pakistan.
However, the court reserved the verdict fir now which will be passed later today.
