As many as 50 people have been killed due to the flood and its ensuing destruction in Sibi and Kohlu areas of Balochistan on Friday. Scores of villages have been swept away in the floodwater, crops destroyed while the train service disrupted multiplying the pubic woes. Floodwater from River Chenab is heading to Qadirabad while reports of high-level flood in River Chenab at Head Khanki and Head Marala positions are reaching here. The high-level flood is feared to hit Qadirabad sometimes at 12 pm today, Flood Warning Center said. FWC has issued warning of high-level flood heading to hit Qadirabad as water level is constantly rising here. A low flood in Jammu and Manawar Tavi has entered 84 villages of Bajwat Sector marooning some 65,000 people. As per reports, a low flood in held Jammu and Kashmir entered Bajwat alongside the Working boundary line disrupting the contact of 84 villages from rest of country while around 65,000 people got stranded. Inflow at Jammu and Manawar Tavi is 50,000 cusecs, while a low flood is expected with arrival of 147,000 cusecs water. Chenab Rangers issued warning to inhabitants of 10 villages located alongside River Chenab for evacuation. A man died while 8 villages inundated as Baen Nullah flooded due to the rainwater. Nullah Palkho near Sialkot flooded inundating many villages. Two persons injured in Gujrat due to roof collapse. Around 40 colonies have been washed away in District Rajanpur. As many as 29 relief camps have been set up in the said areas while the marooned people are being shifted to safer areas. Basha Pul, Basti Sial, Basti Gaheri, Bhagwal, Kot Jai, Laar, Mitha Pur, Bhagwani, Shumali, Chehkan, Aba Shaheedia areas of Dera Ismail Khan have been submerged. The locals are still waiting for any relief from the government. The nullahs are also deluged in Sakrdu submerging scores of villages. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has sought report from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) regarding the losses incurred by floods in Balochistan. The PM also instructed the Chairman NDMA to visit the affected places to assess the losses.
