Summary MQM will celebrate the occasion of independence with full zeal and zest: MQM chief
(Web Desk) – We will take back our resignations if our reservations and concerns are addressed, said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday.
Talking exclusively to Dunya News, the MQM chief said no power other than that of God can finish MQM. He said that he had been leading the party for 37 years and it is normal for people to come and leave parties.
Addressing the current crisis in his party ranks, Altaf Hussain said that many of his party workers were missing adding that he has no connection with criminal syndicates. He said that allegations regarding the NATO equipment and weapons seized from Nine-Zero, headquarters of MQM, are false.
Altaf Hussain said that he had raised ‘injustices’ done to him and party on every level yet his voice had fallen over deaf ears. He said that MQM workers are being targeted in Karachi operation adding that two raids had been conducted at Nine-Zero yet no criminals had been caught.
MQM chief said that his party would have cooperated if Rangers had told that a certain member of the party is involved in illicit activities.
Altaf Hussain said that Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar had promised that there would be no ‘extra judicial killings and missing persons’. He said that Chaudary Nisar had also promised to form a monitoring committee yet no step had been taken in this regard.
Reiterating his stance as a ‘patriot’, Altaf Hussain said that his party will celebrate the occasion of independence (on August 14) with full zeal and zest.
