ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – According to a schedule issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Hajj flight operation will start from August 16 and continue till September 17.
Under the government scheme, more than 70,000 people will perform Hajj this year.
Earlier today, the National Assembly was informed that private Hajj operators are bound to provide facilities to the intending pilgrims according to the agreement.
Responding to a call attention notice moved by Naeema Kishwar Khan and others regarding non-provision of the necessary facilities to pilgrims by the Private Hajj Tour Operators, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yusuf told the House that the Ministry during the last two years has taken action against a number of private Hajj operators including fine and lowering of quota.
He said compensation has also been provided to the affected pilgrims.
The Minister said a special monitoring team will also visit Saudi Arabia during Hajj to check the performance of private Hajj operators.
He said the intending pilgrims under government Hajj scheme this year will have to pay around two hundred sixty-two thousand rupees.
