RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Investigations regarding National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has concluded on Wednesday as Major General(R) Khalid Zaheer Akhtar has been dismissed from service, which implies; forfeiture of rank, decorations, medals, honours, awards, seizure of pension, recovery of personal gains, reported Dunya News.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) irregularities have been found during the investigation in the case as many decisions were taken while failing to observe rule and regulations. During the course of the case, information was also provided by retired generals which were kept in calculation while stripping the General from rank, decorations, medals and post-retirement benefits.

Lt Gen (retired) Muhammad Afzal Muzaffar has been awarded “Severe Displeasure (Recordable)”, while Lieutenant General (R) Khalid Munir Khan has been acquitted in the case.

In 2009, Public Accounts Committee had identified irregularities during an audit which Pakistan Army had began to identify in 2010. General Raheel Sharif had instructed to dispose off the case on fast track for want of justice and transparency.
