Masses have been left to the mercy of the heat as the duration of electricity load shedding across the country has been increased yet again. The overall shortfall increased several folds due to a decrease in power supply by the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) following power generation problems at several power generation units.According to details the residents of Dera Ghazi Khan were protesting against unabated loadshedding in the city while the police authorities resorted to aerial firing to disperse the angry mob. Police also baton-charged the protesters that left several people injured.Protest against loadshedding was also reported from Och Shairf, Tonsa Sharif, Khanewal and Kala Bagh.Traffic remained paralyzed for the most part of the day across the several cities as protesters blocked all main highways and roads making the protest effective and crippling everyday life. Thousands of light and heavy vehicles were seen stuck on the highways, as the enraged protesters blocked routes for the entire day.
