Summary The Local Government elections will be held in 79 Union Council on 25th of next month.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The deadline for filing of nomination papers for for the local government elections in Islamabad Capital Territory ends today (Friday).
The nomination papers can be filed at the offices of thirteen Returning Officers till 5pm today.
According to ECP notification, objections against nomination papers can be filed on 28th of this month and the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from 29th and 30th of this month.
Contesting candidates can withdraw their nomination papers on 5th of next month. The final list of contesting candidates with their symbols will be issued on 6th of next month.
The Local Government elections will be held in 79 Union Council on 25th of next month. There will be thirteen seats for each Union Council. These include one Chairman, one Vice Chairman, six general seats, one youth, one peasant, one labour, two women and one minority.
The election for Metropolitan Corporation will be held in the second phase.
