KARACHI (Dunya News) – A petition against K-Electric privatization seeking to enter the names of corrupt officials into Exit Control List (ECL) after analyzing the records has been filed in Supreme Court (SC), Dunya News reported on Thursday.
As per details, Mohammad Akhtar Naqvi filed the plea urging the court to analyze the data of K-Electric privatization and the detailed information about the deaths caused by power outages in Karachi.
The plaintiff demanded the federation to halt ongoing load-shedding by improving its production.
Talking about the heatwave victims, the claimant urged the federation to reserve Rs 10 lac and Sindh government to ensure Rs 25 lac compensation money to the bereaved families.
He told the court that the lawmakers offered funeral prayers in absentia outside the Parliament House for the people who died from devastating and scorching heat while wearing shoes which is unethical, therefore, the court should annul the membership of these leaders.
Moreover, Federal Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K-Electric have been named as respondents in the plea by the appellant.
