A NATO supply oil tanker has overturned owing to over-speeding near Bilawal Chowrangi in Clifton, Karachi late on Thursday night, resulting in spilling 60,000-liter oil on road. The tanker was finally removed from the scene after 5 hours with the help of heavy machinery.>br>An oil tanker which was carrying GP-8 oil for NATO forces from Karachi to Kandahar, when the hook of the tanker broke resulting in overturning on the road. Almost 60,000 liters of oil was spilled on the road which was of 3.5 million rupees worth. Police and rangers reached the scene and immediately cordoned off the area for all kind of traffic. Due to the unavailability of heavy machinery, it took 5 hours to remove the tanker. The cleanliness work is underway whereas the police and law enforcement agencies have placed strict security cordon around accident side in order to thwart any possible mishap. Governor Sindh also reached the site to monitor the cleanliness and clearing up of oil from the scene. The driver of the tanker managed to flee with his 2 companions after the incident.
