Summary Rauf Siddiqui criticized PM, MQM walked out as Speaker disallowed resolution against Khawaja Asif
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday staged a walkout from Sindh Assembly as Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani disallowed a resolution against Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif. MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui heavily criticized the government including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, reported Dunya News.
Criticizing the provincial and federal governments, Rauf Siddiqui said that the MQM will respond harshly if MQM chief Altaf Hussain gets accused from the other side. He said that many ministers will be found hiding their faces if 12 October 1999 history gets revealed. He warned PM Nawaz Sharif not to press MQM so much that the situation gets out of control.
Earlier, when MQM’s Muhammad Hussain asked for Speaker’s permission for tabling a resolution against Defence Minister Khawaja Asif during budget discussion, Speaker refused to loosen the rules for the tabling of the resolution. Harsh words were exchanged between the Speaker and Muhammad Hussain after this event and MQM legislators staged a walkout from the house.
However, Senior Minister Nisar Khuhro and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sikandar Mindro brought the MQM members back.
