RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Two cargoes of private oil companies on Saturday have been revealed to be having sub-standard oil exposing the reason behind petrol shortage in the city.

According to sources, a few days ago two cargoes of private oil companies reached Karachi port however, the authorities declared the crude oil sub-standard. The oil was examined by the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP).

The fact that large amount of crude oil did not reach oil refinery for purification resulted in petrol shortage in Rawalpindi. The shortages lead to long queues at several petrol stations on June 12.

However, the situation has been controlled to a large extent today.
