PPP's Sherry Rehman elected Senator unopposed
The seat was left vacant after resignation of PPP senator Abdul Latif Ansari.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) vice president Sherry Rehman has been elected Senator unopposed on the general seat from Sindh.
Sherry Rehman had filed nomination papers for a general seat of the Senate from Sindh that had fallen vacant after the resignation of Abdul Latif Ansari who had been elected to the upper house of parliament in March on the PPP’s ticket.
Talking to media outside the Election Commission office, Rehman said she would play the role of genuine opposition and raise issues of public interest in the Senate.
