10 injured as blast hits train in Jacobabad
Upto 200 feet of the track was affected due to the explosion.
JACOBABAD (Dunya News) – At least ten people were injured when a bomb hit a passenger train in Jacobabad district of Sindh on Saturday morning.
Some unknown militants placed a remote-controlled bomb on the railway track and detonated the device as soon as the train passed by it near the district jail area of Jacobabad.
Three compartments of the train derailed and the track was destroyed in the attack, causing disruption of railway traffic in the area.
Officials said that the train Jaffar Express was on its way to southwest city of Quetta from north Rawalpindi city of the country when it came under attack.
The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Police and paramilitary troops Rangers cordoned off the area and rescue work has also been launched.
Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, condemned the attack and directed the concerned officials to expedite rescue and repair work for resumption of the train service in the area.
