Nepra okays hike in KESC tariff

Nepra has approved 61 paisa per unit increase in Karachi Electric Supply Company on Monday. According to Nepra notification, the tariff has been hiked due to power purchase price. The implementation of the said order would be implemented from April to June. However, Nepra member Maqbool Ahmed Khawaja wrote a note against it, saying that change in mechanism is necessary in review of the tariff instead of increasing it. Nepra has increased the tariff by Rs 2.79 paisa per unit for the last nine months.
