Punjab traffic police uniforms to be changed as part of restructuring
The new colour of the force, however, has not been decided
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – After the final decision to restructure the traffic police across Punjab to curb rising traffic accidents, it has been decided to change the uniform of the personnel to same colour across Punjab.
According to details, new recruitments will take place across the province in the traffic police force in order to restructure it.
Reportedly, Inspector General (IG) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera has decided to restructure the traffic police in order to curb the growing number of road accidents. The process on the decision has begun and as part of initial steps, personnel summoned from other cities for years have been sent back.
As per the new rule, any personnel recruited from other departments won’t be able to stay more than two years in the traffic police force.
In the second phase, the uniform colour of the traffic wardens and other personnel will be uniformed across the province.
The new colour of the force, however, has not been decided. The new recruitments for the restructuring of the force will be done through the National Testing Service (NTS).
It merits mentioning here that IG Punjab Sukhera had decided to restructure the traffic police following an increase in road mishaps and worsening traffic jam.
Statistics show that in Pakistan, people die more from road accidents than they do from natural causes.
