Lawyers' strike against Daska incident enters third day

DASKA (Dunya News) - Lawyers in Tehsil Bar have continued strike to mourn Daska tragedy on third day, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
At least two lawyers were killed on Monday in clashes with police when an anti-encroachment drive turned violent in Punjab province s Daska city, forcing authorities to deploy paramilitary forces to contain the unrest.
On the other hand, lawyers have completely boycotted the subordinate courts in Lahore to record their protest against the killing of their fellow lawyers.
According to details, Punjab Bar Council appealed the lawyers to continue strike against Daska incident by boycotting the district courts. Lawyers have also led a rally to Mall Road where they blocked the road by burning the tyres.
Meanwhile in Lahore High Court (LHC), judges have started hearings of major cases.
The Rangers have been ordered to beef up the security of the courts however, police personnel have also been refrained from participating in any security related operation.
