Summary Water Board's claims of providing free water tankers in severely hit areas of Karachi proved hollow

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Public’s unease is increasing in Karachi as the water crisis has intensified in the city. The claims made by Water Board of providing free water tankers in areas severely hit by the crisis have proven hollow. Saeedabad residents have been forced to have water boring even in mosques, reported Dunya News.

Water Board had announced public tankers and free water tankers for the mosques in the severely hit areas of the city but the claims were never fulfilled. Saeedabad residents said that the water had dried up in mosques after previous water boring so they are compelled to have water boring again.

Residents of the area said that there has been no water for the last three months in Saeedabad yet they have been receiving water bills regularly. They said that they registered their complaints at all levels but the management took no action on those complaints. They said that people were facing several diseases due to salty water.
