Summary Police opened fire to disperse the groups but killed their son, says family

ABBOTTABAD (Dunya News) – Family of a person killed in a violent clash between locals and Afghan muhajireen demonstrated a protest and set a shop on fire in Jhagian area.

Earlier on May 20, the two groups clashed and opened fire resultantly, at least four people were injured whereas one was killed. The protesters blocked the Muree Road, Mansehra Road along with other highways.

According to the enraged family, police opened fire to disperse the groups but killed their son. Cases have been registered against at least 13 officers including Cantt Police Station Deputy Inspector General (DSP) Khan Khel, Station House Master (SHO).

The local jury has demanded action against the police officers and evacuation of Afghan muhajireen from Jhagian.
The tension in the area has intensified after the clash and police contingents have circled the area.
